Kenneth Don (KD) Johnson, formerly of Frederick, Okla., and Enid, Okla., died Tues. Feb. 9, 2010 in Houston, Tex., after an extended illness.  K D was born March 13, 1952 to Berneice Catherine (Goble) Johnson and Donal McHarold Johnson in Frederick, Okla., the youngest of three sons.

He attended Frederick public schools, graduating in 1969; later the family moved to Enid where he attended Phillips University.  It was there he met and married Lyn Williams of Ponca City, Okla., on May 25, 1975.

Before moving to the Houston area, Lyn and KD added an addition to their family – a son, Cody – born Feb. 23, 1979, who has been the light of their lives.

KD worked as a courier in the Houston area, but had many more activities and agendas about which he was passionate.  He was very proud of his American heritage and as a result, very passionate about his beliefs, but very careful not to force them on others.  KD was a strong advocate against texting and cell phone use while driving.  He was also a big fan of Glenn Beck and public talk radio.

KD is survived by his wife, Lyn, and their son Cody, both of Houston; his two brothers, Charles M. (Mike) Johnson and James S. (Jimmy) Johnson, both of Enid, Okla.; his mother-in-law, Virginia Williams, Hot Spring, Ark.; his aunt, Murlene Lopez, San Antonio, Tex.; cousins Ricky and Rodney Lopez, nieces and nephews Brandon Johnson, Brittney Johnson, Trevor Johnson, Joel Johnson, Cori Freeman, Kacy Gruber, Kari Riddles, Kevin Riddles and sisters-in-law Nancy Inselman and Sarah Riddles.

KD is now and will forever be a part of our lives; we will forever remember him for something he did or said that made us smile; we will forever love and miss him.

A memorial service is expected for later this month in Houston, followed by a memorial service in Enid, Okla., on April 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Weldon Park located on Mockingbird Lane in Enid.  For more information or to send condolences, please contact Mike Johnson, P.
