Funeral service for C. A. "Aubrey" Wilson, age 88, of Frederick will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the 13th & Josephine Church of Christ in Frederick with David Ridenour officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mr. Wilson passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Corn Heritage Village in Corn, Oklahoma.

C. A. "Aubrey" Wilson was born on December 10, 1921 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Drue C. and Jessie (Baird) Wilson. He attended school northeast of Frederick before transferring to Frederick. He served as a diesel mechanic in the South Pacific Theater on the U.S.S. Henley in the United States Navy during World War II. C. A. then joined the United States Army National Guard and was later called up with the 45th Infantry Division where he served in the Korean Conflict. On October 24, 1946, he was united in marriage to La Ruth I. Knox in Vernon, Texas. She preceded him in death on August 28, 2004. When he returned home to Tillman County, he farmed most of his life and was also a mechanic for the Frederick Motor Company for many years. He then worked as a machinist for Aviall where he retired in 1986. C. A. was a member of the 13th & Josephine Church of Christ where he had served as a deacon and later as an elder.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Charles and Rita Wilson of Frederick; one daughter and son-in-law: Donna & Steve Boyd of Altus; two sisters: Fairy Beck of Wichita Falls, Texas and Fern Hall of Lawton; three grandchildren and spouses: Christopher and Amy Wilson of Ninnekah, Sarah Boyd of Corn and Kathryn and Dennis Terry of Granite; two great-grandchildren: Alexis Wilson and Elliott Terry; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers: Drue Wilson, II and Victor Scheller.

Memorial contributions may be given to The Tipton Home or the 13th & Josephine Church of Christ in memory of C. A. Wilson.
